Monasteries in Ladakh


The land of Ladakh is situated with many beautiful Buddhist monasteries. Various Buddhist monasteries which are the most distinctive feature of Ladakh.. Among all, Hemis Monastery is the largest and most famous. An extremely beautiful painting of Lord Buddha is displayed publicly in this monastery once in 2 years. Xi is another popular monastery which has a gold-plated copper statue of Lord Buddha.

Pangong Lake - Mesmerizing view


This is definitely the attraction of Ladakh. Dating back to the 17th century, it is a nine-story enchanting palace. This famous blue saline lake of Pangong is 5-7 kilometers wide and is more than 14 kilometers long and half of it is running on the other side of Indo China border. Nature and breath-taking views are fully enjoyed in the lake.

Kargil  City


Kargil city is an important transit center of Ladakh, with roads leading to Leh, Srinagar, and Padum in Zangaskar. While traveling by road from Srinagar to Leh, one night stay in Kargil is recommended.

Stok Palace Museum: A royal treat


Stoke Mahal, the presidential palace of Raja Singe Namgyal, was built in 1825 AD by King Tsepal Tondup Namgyal. Managing a spectacular strike between traditional and contemporary architecture, the palace is also famous for its beautiful gardens and a spectacular view of the sun-rise and sun-set. Currently, the palace is open to tourists and presents a collection of royal costumes, crowns and other royal materials.

Ladakh Festivals


The festival season is the highest time to visit Ladakh. Ladakh offers many festivals in which tourists can feel the rich culture of this destination. One of the most interesting is the Hemis festival, which is celebrated in Tibet as the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tantric Buddhism. Celebrated for 3 days in the month of June, the festival provides an opportunity to purchase the magnificent handicrafts of Ladakh.

Uleytokpo: Adventure camping


Uleytokpo is famous for its apricot orchards. Camping on the banks of the Indus River in apricot gardens is a 'dream come true' experience. The Ridzong Monastery is situated in a hidden valley that also has a nunnery. Likir, a famous monastery built during the reign of Likir Gyalpo, was converted into the Gelugpa sect in the 15th century. The Dalai Lama's younger brother, the Head Lama, has his apartment here.
